Sorry about the mess, BUT

I'm in the middle of changing things around, or I have had a really busy week, or any number of reasons really. I find myself saying this a lot, even when my house is tidy I say it..lol I have one of those houses that even when everything is tidy and clean it still looks messy and dirty. There are marks on the walls that wont wash off, stains on the carpet to just wont budge, base boards that have paint coming off them and generally look well, like crap !! And don't even get me started on the outside, I could go on about it for hours.

I can spend hours cleaning day in day out and the next day or in same cases even as little as a hour later its back to chaos!! I dread people just popping around unannounced. No wonder I don't have any friends I cant even have people in my home with having a wee panic attack when I hear the gate click!

Its so disappointing and depressing that when you slog your guts out day in and day out and no one really cares or appreciates what your doing. My husband walks in the door and just rolls his eyes and I know what he's thinking. Get of the computer and the couch woman!! He is right thou, I do spend way to much time on the pc.

I feel so selfish about even thinking all this right now, least I have a husband to come home and roll his eyes at me, least I have a house, least its mine (well and the banks) and I can do what I want with it. There are people in Christchurch that have lost everything!! The people they love, the homes they live in, everything and her I am bitching!

I have a rather charmed life, sure I don't have lots money in the bank I cant just go and buy what I want when I want it at the drop of a hat, but in the long run I generally get what I want. I have my husband who I love more than I can even say, even with the eye rolling, I have my kids who are all happy and healthy that I adore. In the big scheme of things I really don't have much to complain about.

Yet its all I seem to be doing lately, I can't see the good in anything, and its pissing me off and not helping the situation either !! I used to be a upbeat person with lots of friends and people around me . I wouldn't want to hang with me either the negativity is driving me insane. I want to make a stand today, no more self pitying its getting me and my family no where. I have to start putting some money aside to start with so I can get my new carpet, paint, curtains! I have so many ideas on what I want to do to thins place to get it to how I want it, and spending money on crap inst going to get me there!! maybe even a garage sale is in order! Get rid of some of the stuff I have around.

And so starts project house!

NZ Book Month

So I found out from Tracy that this month is New Zealand book month.

Now I am a big reader when I read a book, I am enthralled in it 9 times out of 10. I love the escapism of book how with a turn of a page you are in a different world! And depending on your mood you can be were ever you want to be, if I want to be in a Goth vamp underground living on the edge of society I can go there, if I want to be in the middle world war 2 and fight in a epic battle I can, if I want to take a step back in time to aristocracy and noble men I can.....can you tell I love books yet???

Nothing better than curling up with a nice blanket a good book and a Milo!!

For my first book to share, well not just one book but a series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood books by J R Ward!

Now I love me a bit of paranormal romance and this really appealed to me, I know I may have some of you rolling your eyes about now...lol how very teen of me to like the vampires. But really!! big, hot, hunky men and a completely new take on vampires how can you go wrong right?? A little bit darker and grittier than the likes of vampire diaries, and a little bit naughty in places to! lol Who and I kidding its a a lot naughty and in lots places but its not porn and very nicely done! The first book in this series isn't my fav and it took me a while to really get into it so if you have read the first one and thought nah, I say give the next couple ago and you'll be hooked!!!

Christchurch Earthquake

Yesterday just before 1 Pm Christchurch suffered another horrific earthquake with devastating results. Buildings are destroyed, with people trapped inside them the place looks like a war zone.

I am still in shock about the Christchurch earthquake,I feel some how wrong to be going on with my day when my family and friends are going though some of the worst times of there lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Christchurch and the people that have lost someone in this tragic disaster.

Happy Birthday Alex!!

Okay so I was meant to post all this last night but after such a busy day I was just stuffed and my brain went a bit la-la.

Yesterday was my Mr Alex's 4th birthday and this year instead of buying a bunch of toy that will just end up in the pile with all the others we took him to the movies! He LOVED it, got a bit broad towards the end but he is only 4 and well that is to be expected. We also got him a couple of little toys and a new bag for day care to but it was the movie that really stole the day.

BTW Nomeo and Juliet is way better than I thought it was going to be

And of course the Ben 10 cake, now I'm not the best cake person in the word but rather pleased with how this one turned out.
